COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Grades 9-11 High School Composition

Grade Level Writing (expository, descriptive, persuasive, compare/contrast) – Students will study and improve sentence structure and use the writing process to compose paragraphs, essays, and a research paper.

Grades 7-8 Writing
Grade Level Writing (expository, descriptive, persuasive, compare/contrast) – Students will study and improve sentence structure and use the writing process to compose paragraphs, narratives, business letters, essays, and a research paper.

CLASS TERM

First Day/Orientation: August 26-27

Thanksgiving Break: November 25-26

Christmas Break: December 18 – January 5

Spring Break: March 15-19

Last day: May 12-13

CLASS TIMES
Grades 9-11 (Thursday 11:30-12:30)

Grades 7-8 (Wednesday 11:30-12:30)

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

• Students will be provided with our daily, video-based curriculum but will meet once a week for a 50-60 minute class with their teacher, Matthew Stephens, and other students.
• Students will participate in peer review, teacher-led instruction, and activities with verbal and written feedback.
• All assignments will be graded.
• Curriculum will be mailed to the student at the time of registration.

ENROLLMENT/REGISTRATION
A registration fee of $67 is charged at the time of enrollment. All curriculum is included.

MONTHLY TUITION
Tuition is $50 charged monthly on the 10th of each month, from September 10th through May 10th. You will enter your payment information when you enroll. Tuition fees are non-refundable. All curriculum is included.

MEET THE TEACHER

Matthew Stephens holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with emphasis and certification in middle school and high school English as well as a Masters Degree in Education Administration as a Principal.

In December 2019 Stephens graduated from Texas State University with a master’s degree in Choral Conducting.
